Helicopter Lesson Gifts
Give them the chance to say: “I flew a helicopter.”
Every option gives them hands on helicopter flying. Compare the format, the amount of flying time and the price to find the gift that fits them — and your budget.
Which helicopter lesson gift fits them best?
Every option here is a genuine helicopter flying gift. The useful differences are how the experience is structured, how much time they spend flying and what the extra spend changes on the day.
Tactical Flying Lesson
Three short flights are shared between three participants, including a hands on flying sector. The shared format keeps the price lower without taking away the moment that matters: they get to fly a helicopter.

Pilot Insights
The approximately 15 minute flight includes hands on helicopter flying, wrapped into a 2.5 hour experience exploring helicopters, training and pilot life. It suits somebody who would value the wider aviation experience as well as the lesson itself.

20 Minute Helicopter Lesson
Twenty minutes flying one to one with an instructor gives them their own lesson, the chance to experience the controls and a proper taste of what flying a helicopter feels like.

30 Minute Helicopter Lesson
It costs £50 more than the 20 minute lesson and gives them another 10 minutes in the air — fifty per cent more flying time.

40 Minute Helicopter Lesson
Forty minutes gives them twice the flying time of the 20 minute lesson. That is a major change in how much time they actually have to enjoy the experience in the air.

60 Minute Helicopter Lesson
A full hour of one to one flying gives them the longest first lesson in the range. If they are genuinely wondering whether to explore further training, it also gives them the most first-hand experience on which to base that decision.

Every option gets them flying. More budget changes the experience.
Use this when more than one gift would suit them and budget becomes the deciding factor. On the one to one lessons, spending more is mainly buying them more time in the air.
Two different ways to give them their first helicopter experience
Tactical Flying at £149 combines a hands on flying sector with two observation sectors in a shared three-flight experience. Pilot Insights at £199 includes approximately 15 minutes flying, including hands on flying, within a broader 2.5 hour aviation and pilot-focused experience.
The classic one to one helicopter flying lesson
These are the straightforward one to one lessons most people will picture when they think about flying a helicopter. The 20 minute lesson at £245 gives them a proper spell in the air and the chance to experience the controls for themselves. If the budget allows, another £50 extends that to 30 minutes – fifty per cent more flying time.
For a longer one to one flying experience
The 40 minute lesson at £395 gives them a long spell in the helicopter to enjoy the experience and spend real time with the controls. The 60 minute lesson at £549 gives them the full hour – the option to choose if the budget allows and you want to make the most of what may be their one and only helicopter lesson.
Quite possibly a once in a lifetime chance to fly a helicopter
Most people will never sit at the controls of a helicopter. This gift gives them the chance to be one of the people who can say: “I flew one.”
They will feel the aircraft lift away from the ground, experience the view from the cockpit and, under an instructor’s guidance, discover how a helicopter responds when they take the controls for themselves.
Maybe it is something they have talked about for years. Maybe you simply know it would make them grin the moment they open the gift. Either way, this is not another thing to put on a shelf. It brings anticipation before the day, adrenaline while they are doing it and a story they can tell afterwards.
For many people, one lesson will be enough to tick off something extraordinary. For somebody who comes back down wondering whether they would like to go further, it is also a real first taste of helicopter flying before deciding what comes next.

Check the lesson first, then the venues available for it
Each helicopter lesson has its own UK venue network.
The one to one lessons, Tactical Flying and Pilot Insights do not all operate from the same airfields. If a particular part of the country matters, check the locations available for the gift before buying.
Our Locations section starts with useful towns, cities and areas, while the Flying Venues guides show the actual airport, airfield or heliport where the experience takes place.
Easy to give. Exciting to receive.
You do not need to know anything about helicopter flying to choose the gift. Pick the lesson that suits your budget, then check the venues available for that experience before you buy.
Common questions before you choose
Does the recipient need any previous flying experience?
No. The helicopter lessons are designed as introductory experiences. The instructor explains the aircraft and controls before the flying element begins.
Which gifts are one to one?
The 20, 30, 40 and 60 minute lessons provide one to one flying time with an instructor. Tactical Flying is shared between three participants, while Pilot Insights is a broader small-group experience that includes approximately 15 minutes flying.
Is the 30 minute lesson worth comparing with the 20 minute lesson?
The 20 minute lesson costs £245 and the 30 minute lesson costs £295. The extra £50 increases the flying time from 20 to 30 minutes, so it is worth comparing the two closely if your budget reaches the £300 mark.
What payment options are available?
You can pay for the gift in full when you book. On eligible bookings, Klarna also offers Pay in 30 days interest free, or Pay in 3 interest-free monthly instalments — useful if you would rather spread the cost of giving someone their first helicopter lesson.
How long are the gift vouchers valid?
Tactical Flying and the 20 and 30 minute lessons use 9 month vouchers, while the 40 and 60 minute lessons use 12 month vouchers. Pilot Insights voucher validity should be checked in the current booking terms before purchase.
Can I choose a helicopter lesson close to the recipient?
Yes, but the available venues vary by experience. Check the individual lesson or Locations page before buying if a particular area is important.
Can family or friends come along to watch?
Spectators are welcomed on the current lesson range, subject to the arrangements at the chosen venue. The booking information should be checked before travelling.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Helicopter flying is weather dependent. If conditions are unsuitable, follow the booking information supplied for the rebooking arrangements that apply.
